School just made him sick.

When I was in school and I used to tell my parents that “it’s the teacher, not me!” they would roll their eyes and tell me to go do my homework.  Thankfully it didn’t make me sick..

When I was in high school, the buildings were old, the air was musky and humid (even with the a/c kickin’…) -I don’t even want to know what the air ducts were like inside.  It crossed my mind that it probably wasn’t the cleanest, most sanitary air to be breathing while enhancing our minds…!  Recently, my brother’s girlfriend was telling me about her cough.  It started while in school and over the summer it subsided measurably, she was pondering the same thing I had pondered back in high school; “is school the cause of my affliction?”  –well, we are definitely intent on finding out.  She starts back again soon this month, and the somewhat unofficial study will begin.  Btw, my high school has since been completely torn down/renovated/renewed… the year after my class graduated.

For this little 3rd grader, it took over a year to figure out what was causing his health issues – poor lil guy!!  Having a clean learning environment is crucial!  Always question the location if this is something you find happening with yourself or someone you know…  and spread the word/information/knowledge.  We must be ever vigilant.

Life:

it just keeps going.  What a trip.. more than simply transparent, sharing it’s boundaries seemlessly and endlessly; illustrated perfectly by the single-boundary Möbius strip.

It’s Valentine’s Day somewhere :*)

Today is Pepero Day in South Korea!  Pepero (or the Japanese version, Pocky) sticks are yummy little cookie sticks that are either filled w/ chocolate, dipped in chocolate, plain, almond or peanut coated… Heck, they even make a Hello Kitty Pepero stick now!  They’re delicious and fun to eat (and to share!).  11.11 has been designated as “Pepero Day” as the 11’s resemble the candy themselves – and moreover the numbers represent a couple: 1+1 = 2.  Go ahead, pepper your love with some Pepero sticks, and have fun this Pepero Day!  *^^*

Diane Rehm on: The 3rd Industrial Revolution

For those of you who geek out on NPR like I do, I was listening to the Diane Rehm Show and this broadcast about green energy.  It’s fascinating, and I’m just wondering why we here are not as involved and proactive with the “evolution” of it as some other countries.  Excited for when it begins to be more of a reality, this particular interview explained how it works, and the (major) benefits of it.  Super cool to hear how it would impact (and help save power & resources) through several different methods – pay attention, this applies to you!  –Well, IF you happen to use a washing machine, or dryer, or….

The interview was with Jeremy Rifkin (founder & president of the Foundation on Economic Trends (FOET), adviser to the European Union, and author of “The Hydrogen Economy,” “The Biotech Century” and “The End of Work”), educating us about the use of renewable energies and how the merge with the internets will have a substantial impact on “going green”–and what the outcomes will be.
