Look up, look down, look all-around… but keep your eyes on what’s most important.
Pic 1 was in Vegas at a Chihuly exhibit, the 2nd at my friend’s former Bronx apartment, the 3rd is San Fran, the 4th crossed my path on Facebook, and the heart was art from a museum also in SF : )

“For though we love both the truth and our friends, piety requires us to honor the truth first.”

“Even more important than the warmth and affection we receive, is the warmth and affection we give. It is by giving warmth and affection, by having a genuine sense of concern for others, in other words through compassion, that we gain the conditions for genuine happiness. More important than being loved, therefore, is to love.”
-Dalai Lama

When in doubt:
add a pinch more salt; slow down; be nice; help; smile; pray; leap; love; leave a little extra; turn it up; be silent; believe; laugh out loud; breathe…. whatever you do, always do it with honesty, integrity and dedication -no matter how small or insignificant you may think your action is.
“The first beneficiary of compassion is always oneself. When compassion, or warmheartedness, arises in us and our focus shifts away from our own narrow self-interest, it is as if we open an inner door. It reduces fear, boosts confidence and brings us inner strength. By reducing distrust, it opens us to others and brings us a sense of connection to others, and sense of purpose and meaning in life.” –Dalai Lama

My dad lights my life; from fixing a strand of my favorite Christmas lights to installing one under the hood if I ever need to check oil in the dark, from front to back – he’s got it covered. A master of all trades, he once told me he could fix anything -except a broken heart [so don’t get one]… Love him :*)
